Guy O. Danielson, III, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He specializes in brain, spinal and peripheral nerve surgery. His interests include lumbar spine arthrodesis. Raised in Oklahoma and a sooner from the get-go, Dr. Danielson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma as well as completing his residency at U of O Medical School. He then joined the Air Force for two years receiving the rank of Major while acting as Chief of Neurosurgery at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Upon leaving the military and returning to the US, Dr. Danielson established one of the first neurosurgery practices in East Texas in 1976.
Known for his keen mind and voracious reading appetite, Dr. Danielson is a board certified Neurosurgeon specializing in spine injury, deformity, degeneration repair and pain management. He believes a holistic approach to patient care – mind and body – is essential in garnering the best results from a prescribed treatment. Considered one of the leading neurosurgical minds in the region, Dr. Danielson’s expertise is often sought after on the national level.

Degrees and Education
Dr. Danielson received his medical degree (M.D.) in 1968 from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma in 1964. Dr. Danielson did his residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Oklahoma from 1969 – 1974. From 1974 – 1976 he was the Chief of Neurosurgery at Clark Air Force Base.
Awards and Appointments
Guy O. Danielson, III, M.D. received the Presbyterian Hospital Award in 1986, which is given annually to the outstanding senior medical student in surgery. He was initiated into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society in 1968. Guy belongs to multiple national and regional professional organizations. His licensure is from the states of Oklahoma and Texas.
