Texas Spine & Joint Hospital provides Joint Camp for all patients undergoing knee or hip replacement surgery. This class allows patients to prepare for joint replacement surgery, both mentally and physically. Our staff explains procedures and terms, answers questions and helps to alleviate fears. Attendees share stories and build camaraderie with other patients receiving the same surgeries. Our surgeons highly recommend that patients and caregivers attend Joint Camp as patients who are more prepared typically have improved postoperative outcomes. Joint Camp includes a light lunch and there is no charge. During Joint Camp, you will learn about:
· Orthopedic nursing, both pre-op and post-op
· Respiratory Therapy
· Physical therapy
· Home recovery
· Case management
