Mark B. Renfro, M.D., is Board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Renfro specializes in brain, spinal and peripheral nerve surgery. His neurosurgical training includes extensive experience in spinal surgery (complex spinal instrumentation and endoscopic techniques), cerebrovascular procedures, stereotactic radiosurgery (Cyberknife), deep brain stimulators, as well as skull base surgery.

Degrees and Education
Mark Renfro, M.D., earned his medical degree (M.D.) from the University of Florida after obtaining his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of North Carolina. He completed his medical studies at the University of Florida, completing a general surgery internship and neurosurgical residency. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery. His neurosurgical training includes extensive experience in spinal surgery (complex spinal instrumentation and endoscopic techniques), cerebrovascular procedures, stereotactic radiosurgery (Cyberknife), deep brain stimulators, as well as skull base surgery. While at the University of Florida, his research focused on microsurgical anatomy with an emphasis on skill base approaches. He also attended a surgical clerkship as the House Institute in Los Angeles, studying lateral skull base anatomy as a number of national and international meetings. Dr. Renfro began his affiliation with Tyler Neurosurgical Associates in July 1997.

Awards and Appointments
Dr. Renfro was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and AOA. He received the University of Florida Neurosurgical Award and the College of Medicine Alumni Scholarship for Academic Excellence. He is an Instructor, AANS on the Oral Board Review Counsel.
