Todd M. Raabe, M.D. is board certified by The American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Raabe specializes in adult and pediatric spinal surgery. His interests include thromboembolic prophylaxis in total joint arthroplasty and technique and surgically confirmed fusion rates following pseudarthrosis repair in the thoracolumbar spine.

“No one wants to have back surgery. Many people endure years of pain because they want to avoid surgery… or at least delay it as long as possible. I understand, but we have techniques today that can make such a dramatic difference—reducing or eliminating pain, restoring flexibility and mobility. I know that the term “back surgery” is scary, but it’s my job to help my patients understand their options and help them.”

Degrees and Education
Dr. Raabe received his medical degree (M.D.) in 1991 from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, where he graduated as Salutatorian with honors. He obtained his undergraduate degree, Magna Cum Laude, in 1987 from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. Dr. Raabe interned at Texas A&M University from 1991 – 1992. He completed his residency in Orthopedics at Texas A&M University, Scott and White Memorial Hospital, Temple, Texas from 1992 – 1996. His fellowship was at the Colorado Spine Center and the Rocky Mountain Spine Center, Aurora, Colorado from 1996 – 1997.

Awards and Appointments
Todd M. Raabe, M.D. was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha at his medical school, Texas A&M University. He was awarded the Gathright Scholar Award for Outstanding College of Medicine Student in 1991. In undergraduate school, Texas A&M University, he was a President’s Endowed Scholar, a Lechner Fellow, the Phi Eta Sigma President and a member of Phi Kappa Phi. Dr. Raabe is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Christian Medical and Dental Society the Smith County Medical Society, where he is Vice President and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. His licensure is from the state of Texas.
